WOW! thos pumpkins are really growing fast!
I cut one to see how ripe it is and it jsut oozed juice. not quite ripe enough.
Oh, well, I hope they ripen soon because I can tell you, I do get some anxiety when I am not
at home - what if someone steals them?!! I know it is just plain silly but I don't have many and
they have to feed us all year. Off to make pumpkin soup. here is a great and easy recipe:
Pumpkin soup
Pumpkin cut up and put in pot
water - a couple of cups
stock cubes to like
(or use chicken stock to replace water and stock cubes - a far better taste)
simmer till you like taste
I just use masher but you may like to blend
pour in to bowls
add dollop of cream (and give it the customery swirl of course)
add herbs - eg. parsley or dill or basil
Just DELICIOUS!! gets rave reviews from visitors.

New Flip captures Summer here in Tasmania...
Greetings!
Great news! you can buy the flip for $30 off and free postage!!! here is where to buy the Flip online in Australia!! this is exciting because I had to wait a year for it to come to Australia.
It is full summer here in Tasmania and I know that a lot of people have been having problems with snails.
I have an amazing way to get rid of them. It is like a 'snail hotel'!
I will put photos up next blog post.
Today I will post a video of a little bit of my garden. Don't tell me you Can't buy a Flip Ultra HD or Flip Mino Online in Australia. You can, and I did. complete with warranty and all. I will put a link up so you can check it out. it is amazing - just point and click (the ultra has 2 hours of video but the mino is thinner in size) and took me five minutes to upload and put this on youtube and here.... amazingly easy. Enjoy...
I had to be a way for seven weeks and that was before we knew for sure the frost was gone. The problem was, I needed those seeds inthe ground and planted and growing because byt the time I returned, it was going to be too late to get that first bit of summer planting underway. What to do?
Well, I planted what I call an 'intensive' garden. I based it ont he indian tri-planting method. Apparently it was what the American Indians did. They planted corn, beans and squash together.
I planted
beets
lettuce
corn
squash
peas
carrots
beans
all in the same two square metre plot - and came back to a flourishing garden!
The weeds did not have a lot of chance. there were peas up and the whole htings just grew very well. I will post a video here of it for proof.
I have spra;yed with seaweed twice in the whole of the ten or so weeks and the peas have been eaten and pulled out so you cans ee that the carrots are more grown.
The only problem is that you would have to pull out small carrots to eat so that things can grow.
